UKROEd marks International Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day (8 March), UKROEd is recognising the contribution that women across the country are making to helping to make our roads safer.

International Women’s Day was first launched in 1911, at a time when there was much oppression and inequality for women.

While this lack of equality has improved somewhat over time, it does still exist. At UKROEd, we fully support the cause to eliminate discrimination that directly, and indirectly, affects women.

And on this day, we celebrate and thank all the women who are making remarkable contributions within UKROEd and beyond.

Chief Executive Ruth Purdie OBE said: “Today and every day, we strive to create an environment where equality and respect are the norms, empowering everyone to achieve their fullest potential and be the best version of themselves.

“As an organisation we have been recognised for investing in our people and promoting diversity in the workplace. Inclusivity is at the heart of our values, ensuring that the voice of every woman working for and with us is heard and respected – regardless of her role, background, or experience.

“By fostering an inclusive workplace, we not only honour the diversity of our team but also help to drive innovation and success not just within UKROEd, but with all the providers, trainers, assessors and associates that we work with so closely.

“I would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every person who works for and with UKROEd, but especially on International Women’s Day, I thank all the women who make this organisation a success. Together, our collective strength lies in our diversity.”

Supporting International Women’s Day is not just a one-day initiative – it’s part of an ongoing commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment which forms a central part of the work we carry out in this field. We are implementing policies and practices that promote diversity and inclusion within UKROEd, fostering a supportive work environment where everyone feels valued and respected. By championing this cause, we reaffirm our dedication to building a more equitable world where every individual, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive.
