Project EDWARD (Every Day Without A Road Death)
13 September, 2021 - 17 September, 2021
Project EDWARD stands for Every Day Without A Road Death. It was devised in 2016 as a way of bringing organisations together with a clear, ambitious target. In 2018 Project EDWARD won a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
In 2020, Project EDWARD was delivered for a week in mid September, in association with police forces across the UK as well as Highways England through their Driving for Better Business Campaign, the Association of Road Risk Management (ARRM) and the charity TyreSafe. It also supported the One Road, One Week campaign of police enforcement activity.
The theme for 2021 will be Fit for the Road with a focus on driver compliance and vehicle safety. The programme will again consist of a national road trip (COVID-19 restrictions permitting) visiting high-profile road safety events, as well as presenting digital content through the Project EDWARD website and an extensive social media campaign.
In fact, last year’s virtual programme received wide critical acclaim, and that’s why there will once again be a comprehensive programme of webinars, interviews and technology demonstrations, all designed to attract a diverse nationwide audience.
