NPCC Operations Calendar 2025-26

news

The National Roads Policing Calendar for the year 2025-265 has been published. The Calendar was redesigned for 2024 – 2025, removing individual fatal four operations and combining them to create Operation Spotlight. The operations calendar for 2025 – 2026 will continue to feature the new operations and the new structure. NRPOII has utilised the information captured during the development of the national RoPSTRA to assist in developing a national operations calendar that targets the key operational risks raised by forces.

NRPOII has seen a positive effect from the new structure and operations including higher participation and engagement levels from forces as well as early evaluations showing a reduction in KSI’s.

NRPOII has obtained STATS19 data from DfT in relation to the fatal four identifying which months peak where speed, mobile phone use, not wearing a seat belt and driving under the influence are a contributory factor to the collision. NRPOII has looked at this data for both KSI collisions and all casualties combined. After analysing this data NRPOII has been able to identify the most effective operations to run and the best months to place them. NRPOII has also analysed vulnerable road users and HGV data from the DfT custom downloads tool. A national meeting was held on 29th October 2024 with various partner agencies and Police regional representatives to discuss the draft calendar. There was continued support for the new operations and to continue with the gold, silver, bronze command structure for both Operation Spotlight and Operation Limit.
